As part of their Social Subjects course a small class of S1 pupils have been learning about their world by creating and decorating their own painted globes. Co-operating well and working together using card, paper and paint. Read more here.

Dumfries Academy Rural Skills pupils have gone into the construction business. In order to help grow vegetables for the school community the pupils have recycled and built a 9 metre full sized poly tunnel at the back of the the school.  Read more here.

On Thursday 5th June, seventy one Dumfries Academy students travelled half way across the world on the 2014 History trip to Los Angeles. Despite a very long journey to be in LA it was all worthwhile.   Read more here.

Erin Campbell, an S3 pupil, enjoyed a special day in Edinburgh at the National Gallery where she was presented with her prizes for being placed First Winner in this year's Tesco Bank Art Competition for her painting, 'Speed'.  Read more here.

On Thursday 19th of June Dumfries Academy held their annual Health and Wellbeing Awards for S1 and S2. These awards celebrated pupils sporting success in and out of school in various activities.  Read more here.

S1 & S2 Health and Wellbeing Awards

On Tuesday 17 June a large group of senior pupils from Dumfries Academy volunteered to go to the Cairndale Hotel to assist at the annual Senior Citizen’s Guid Nychburris Lunch.  Our task was to serve tea and coffee and a light lunch, as well as to help the elderly to their seats and to make sure they felt welcome.
