MESSAGE FROM MR GLENDYE RE SCHOOL RE-OPENING
7th January 2010 I am pleased that the school will re-open as usual on Friday for all
pupils. The decision to close is not one that I take lightly but given
the circumstances I felt it was important to give parents as much
notice as possible. We have taken all reasonable precautions in making
the school safe and comfortable, heating is now on a 24 hour basis and
walkways have been salted, pupils will still need to take due care and
attention as they walk about the school.
S1 and S2 pupils will stay in school during the morning break, S1 will also stay in school during lunch break. S3 & S4 will have access to the rear playground and their usual social areas and S5 & S6 will be in Minerva. The snow is now very icy and hard, so snowballs have the potential to cause serious injury, given this is the case I do not expect to see any snowballing around the school. I am sure that parents/carers will pass this message on to their children.
I now hope the rest of the term runs more smoothly than the start.
K. Glendye (Acting Rector)
